How to read these comparisons
We compare chat software for operation on your own website. Each page identifies the original project, package or repository it covers. Documented statements link to their source. Unknown means that the checked sources do not establish the detail. It does not mean that a feature is absent.
These pages are published by STREAMPANEL, the provider of SPChat. They compare documentation. No common performance or security tests were conducted across these products. Historical minimum requirements do not confirm support for current PHP releases.
Self-hosting or managed operation
With self-hosted software, you manage the web server, backups and updates. Whether shared hosting fits depends on the chat, server settings and concurrent usage. The label “PHP chat” alone neither requires nor rules out a dedicated chat server.
SPChat is available as a self-hosted download and a managed hosted service. The individual comparisons use Download 1.0.7 as their reference so that software features and hosting services are not mixed. Centralized platform services each have their own accounts, rules and operating terms. We do not give them a blanket feature rating here.
